Learn the essential techniques you need to take fantastic digital photos in five hands-on information packed sessions!

Session 1: Understanding Digital Photography

  1. What is digital photography?
  2. What is the difference between film and digital photography?
  3. What are Mega pixels and sensors?
  4. Where does my camera store the pictures I take?
  5. What is the difference between all these different storage mediums: Compact flash, SD, XD, Card readers, storage devices, etc?

Session 2: Understanding  your camera’s dials and their functions to take good photos

  1. Make your pictures dramatic using light manipulation
  2. Take action shots using speed manipulation
  3. Use correct exposure for pictures that are not too bright or too dark
  4. Use EV compensation to improve brightness and contrast
  5. Use the fundamentals above in concert to take quality pictures.
  6. Make your photos more appealing by learning how to shoot for good composition, balance, contrast, shapes, etc.

Session 3: How to use your digital camera’s manual settings to take the pictures you want.

  1. Further manipulation of your camera’s dials and functions
  2. Advanced manual camera settings
  3. Program camera settings
  4. In class shooting demonstrating what you have learned

Session 4: Advanced Digital Photography Techniques

  1. Wide angle shooting
  2. Telephoto shooting
  3. Macro shooting
  4. Moving objects
  5. Textures
  6. Combinations

Session 5: Overview and Discussion

  1. Review of workshop topics
  2. Questions and Answers
  3. One-on-One Coaching
